Charles Duncan "Charley" Fergusson, 65, of Sanford NC, passed away suddenly on January 12, 2017 of complications related to diabetes. Charley was born on July 22, 1951 in Dayton, OH. He grew up in Hudson, OH, graduated from Western Reserve Academy, where he excelled playing football, and went on to attend Wake Forest University, later receiving his BA from Florida State University. After receiving his MS in Accounting at Kent State University, Charley and several Wake Forest classmates formed Western Dredge, Inc in Boise ID where Charley worked and lived for many years. In 2015 he retired from his position as a Director of Contracts and Grants for Fayetteville State University, in Fayetteville North Carolina.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents, William Willems and Zelletta Robinson Fergusson of Sanford, NC. He is survived by two brothers, David (Mary) Fergusson of Winston-Salem, NC and Robert (Nancy) Fergusson of Sanford; two nieces, Carrie Fergusson and Amy Bolmer, one nephew, Will Fergusson, one grand niece, and two grand nephews.
As a friend stated, "Everyone liked Charley", and a memorial is planned after all of Charley's friends and family have been notified.
