Police say woman's breathalyzer three times legal limit

Hudson -- A 21-year-old Streetsboro woman was arrested after police say her breathalyzer reading was three times over the legal limit.

She was stopped by police shortly after 4 p.m. Jan. 31 at West Streetsboro Street and state Route 91 after a local restaurant owner reported she walked into his establishment already seemingly under the influence of alcohol.

Police found the woman driving a 2005 Mazda. When pulled over, the officer said she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Her breathalyzer reading was .278, according to police. In Ohio, the legal limit is .08.

The woman was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and having a blood alcohol content over the legal limit. She was taken to the police station and later released on bond.

Operating a vehicle while intoxicated

Jan. 20. Driver ends up in ditch -- then jail: An anonymous caller reported to police that a car was stuck in a ditch at West Streetsboro Street and Terex Road.

Police found a 24-year-old Hudson woman behind the wheel of a car that was in a drainage ditch.

The officer said he smelled alcohol on the woman's breath.

The woman was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content of .146, above the legal limit of .08. She was taken to jail and later released on bond.

Jan. 31. Tail light leads to arrest: A Hudson man was arrested and charged with OVI after police pulled him over for a tail light that was not working.

The officer said he pulled the man over around 1 a.m. at North Streetsboro Street and Westhaven Drive and smelled alcohol.

He said that the driver had slurred speech and failed the field sobriety test. The man refused to take a breathalyzer. He was arrested and later released to a friend.

Assault

Jan. 27. Man charged with assault: A 53-year-old Hudson man was arrested and charged with assault after his 35-year-old girlfriend told police he allegedly "grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground." He was taken to the police department and later released on bond.
