Neighborhood reports 12 thefts from unlocked cars

Hudson -- Twelve residents of the Woods of Williamsburg development said their vehicles were entered and $1,617 in miscellaneous items were stolen sometime before 4 a.m. Jan. 24.

According to the police reports, none of the vehicles were locked.

Thefts occurred on Virginia Court, Laurawood Lane, Alisa Court, Heritage Drive and Williamsburg Circle.

Items stolen included sunglasses, credit cards, portable media players, headphones, compact discs, sunglasses and a Swiss army knife.

Possession of drugs,
drug paraphernalia

Jan. 23. Two males cited: A 20-year-old Stow man and a 20-year-old Munroe Falls man were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after they were observed smoking from a glass pipe in a vehicle in a Darrow Road parking lot at 6:55 p.m. They were cited and released.

Jan. 22. Marijuana found: A 49-year-old Hudson man was charged with possession of marijuana after police stopped his vehicle for having no license plate light on West Streetsboro Street shortly after 11 p.m. According to the report, the man was in possession of a marijuana joint. He was cited and released.

Criminal damaging

Jan. 23. Mailbox damaged: An Argyle Drive resident said sometime between noon and 4 p.m. someone set off fireworks or some kind of explosive device inside her mailbox. Damage was estimated at $75.

Jan. 21. Vehicle scratched: A Boston Heights man said his vehicle was scratched with a metal object sometime between 9 a.m. and noon while it was parked in the high school parking lot on Hudson-Aurora Road. Damage was estimated at $500. An investigation is pending.

Aggravated menacing

Jan. 19. Text threats: A 47-year-old Hudson woman said a 20-year-old Tallmadge man had sent her a text message, threatening to kill her. According to the police report, charges were filed and a warrant was issued for the man's arrest for aggravated menacing.

Operating a vehicle
while intoxicated

Jan. 21. Hudson man arrested: A 35-year-old Hudson man was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to obey marked traffic lanes at 2:19 a.m. on Route 91 at Aurora Street. After failing field sobriety tests, the man was taken to the Hudson Police Department. His vehicle was towed. He was later released on a personal recognizance bond.

Theft

Jan 25. Credit card number used: A 14-year-old resident of College Street said someone attempted to make a $1,540 online purchase using her credit card number. According to the police report, the transaction did not take place because of limits on her card. An investigation is pending.

Disorderly conduct

Jan. 26. Suspicious male taken home: An employee of a restaurant on West Streetsboro Street said there was a suspicious male in the parking lot at 1:55 a.m. According to the report, police discovered a 37-year-old Hudson man who was intoxicated. The man was cited for disorderly conduct and given a ride home.
