Jacob Roucchio-Cole of Hudson, Ohio teamed up with three other business students from The University of Akron to win first place in the 2017 Community Bank Case Study Competition, held by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) in Washington, D.C.
The team competed against 32 undergraduate teams from colleges and universities around the U.S. Partnering with banks to conduct original case studies, the competition encourages students to explore community banking and management.
Sprague's team partnered with the Peoples Bank of Marietta, Ohio, with mentorship from UA faculty advisor Dr. Bhanu Balasubramnian.
Roucchio-Cole and his team members have each been awarded $1,000 in scholarship money from CSBS. The team will present their work at the CSBS-Federal Reserve Community Banking Research and Policy Conference in St. Louis, and will have their case study published in the Journal of Community Bank Case Studies.
