TITLE Boxing Club of Stow will host a Box A Thon fundraising event on April 22 at its Stow location, 4433 Kent Road in the ACME Plaza. There will be continuous classes, which are open to the public, beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until 2 p.m. The schedule includes: continuous boxing from 9 to 10; a 75 minute boxing / kickboxing class from 10:15 to 11:30; 60 minutes of boxing from 11:45 to 12:45; and boxing / kickboxing from 1 to 2. The donation for nonmembers will be $10 per hour of boxing. Hand wraps are required for this event and may be purchased in the club for $8. You may also bring your own or rent them for $3 (this price is not included in the donation).

There will be 54 bags available for use during the event. A bag may be sponsored In Memory Of or In Honor Of someone affected by cancer for $20. Sponsored bags will be decorated with boxing glove cut-outs featuring the name of the special person being honored.

In addition to boxing gloves and heavy bags, healthy refreshments will also be provided. This event is open to those 8 years old and up. Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult and a parental signature is required for anyone under 18 years of age. Registration in advance is preferred, but not required. For further information, to register or to sponsor a bag, contact Cindy Jakupcin at 330-474-7062 or email stow@titleboxingclub.com. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

Summit County area Relay For Life events are participating in a Queen of Hearts drawing. Drawings will take place each week until the Queen of Hearts is drawn.

The game works by individuals purchasing tickets which are entered into a random drawing. Write your name and phone number legibly on the ticket along with the card number that you would like that is left from the remaining pool of numbers.

If your name is selected during the drawing, the card number on your ticket will be unsealed and turned over on the board. If the Queen of Hearts is drawn, the winner will receive 50 percent of the jackpot and 50 percent will go to The American Cancer Society. The tickets are destroyed each week after the drawing, but the jackpot continues to accumulate until a winner is drawn.

Participants must be 18 years old. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and may be purchased until 6 p.m. the day of the drawing at Danny Boy's on the historic Tallmadge Circle.

There is no limit on the number of tickets purchased. Drawings will be at 6:30 p.m. each Sunday until the Queen of Hearts is drawn. Winners are responsible for any taxes on winnings over $600.

The 2017 Stow Munroe Falls Hudson Relay For Life will be June 10 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Stow Glen Retirement Village. If you would like to join the fight against cancer, register a team today at www.relayforlife.org/stowhudson.
